It builds upon basic microeconomics but incorporates more complex mathematical models and sophisticated economic theories. Topics often studied in this area are Consumer Theory, Producer Theory, Market Structures, Game Theory and Strategic Behaviour, Market Failures and Externalities, Welfare Economics, General Equilibrium and Welfare Analysis, Labour Economics and Risk and Uncertainty.
